Kingwood Ultras 2026

Sept 11-13th

The Kingwood Ultras are a weekend long trail running event which allows runners to chose either a set distance goal (26.2 miles, 50K, 50 Miles, 100K or 100miles) or  go as many miles as they can in a specific amount of time…6hrs, 12 hrs, 24hrs, or 48hrs.

Runners, their family and friends can set up a small camp at the race base camp with all the other runners and race staff and use their camp to support their efforts.  The race base camp will serve as the one and only aid station.

The Course

The Kingwood Ultra is held at Horseshoe Bend Park approx. 3 miles from the quaint riverside town of Frenchtown New Jersey.

The 2 mile course winds through field and forest with several small stream crossings.  There are plenty of roots and rocks so trail running shoes are definitely in order.  Each 2 mile loop has approx. 300′ of elevation gain.  The trail is well marked with mileage markers every 1/4 mile.  Glow sticks and reflective ribbons will mark the trail from sunset to sunrise.

Base Camp/Aid Station

There is one aid station at the base camp on the course at the camping area and timing mat station. Gourmet breakfast, lunch and dinner fare provide by our awesome sponsor 51 Landsdowne will await runners. The obligatory fruit, cookies, candy, pretzels/chips, PBJ, potatoes, water, Gatorade, Coke/Mountain Dew and other standard aid station fare with a few surprise treats thrown in will be available around the clock.

Runners are each allotted one 10’x10′ camping area at the basecamp directly on the course in addition to one parking spot within 200′-300′ from the basecamp.   There will also be a limited number of out of the weather group sleeping/resting cots for overnight runners who don’t wish to bring their own tents.  These will be first come first serve and limited to no more than 2hrs per runner per nap.  Basic pillow and blankets will be available.

Charity/ Non Profit Partner

We’re excited and grateful to be able to give back to the good folks at the Friends of Horseshoe Bend Park who work to keep the trails clear and accessible.  A portion of race registration fees will go towards supporting these good folks.

Supporting local non-profits who work to preserve the special landscapes that we hold our races in is a key element in all Spirit Trips races.  Our local non-profit benefactor for MuleSkinner is the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor.  Their ongoing efforts to preserve and protect the scenic beauty and historic character of the canals and tow paths is commendable and deserving of our support.  A portion of all race registration fees will be donated to them and we encourage all participants to do what they’re able to beyond our donations.  This organization is truly worth it.
