2021 MuleSkinner Has  Been Postponed

The 2021 MuleSkinner Endurance Series has been postponed due to extensive damage to the course during recent Hurricane Ida.  The PA DCNR who manages the towpath has rescinded our permit out of concern for safety.  All registered runners will receive a deferral to next years race or credit for any other Spirit Trips event.  We’re beyond upset about this but mother nature had other plans.  We wish for a speedy and full recovery of everyone’s damaged homes and property that were impacted by Hurricane Ida.

Volunteers

The MuleSkinner endurance races welcomes the assistance of volunteers who may not want to run but just want to be part of the energy and fun.

Distance Options

  • 26.2 Mile Marathon
  • 50K
  • 50 Mile Solo
  • 100K Solo

Aid Stations

Aid stations are spaced approx. 4-7 miles apart and will have water, fruit, cookies, pretzels, water, Gatorade, Coke/Mountain Dew and other standard aid station fare with a few surprise treats thrown in.

Muleskinner is a cup free race! Please bring your own water bottle, hydration pack, reusable cup, etc.

Our goal is to leave no evidence of our presence on the course other than our footprints. Please carry all waste with you and drop it off at aid stations.

Porta Potties will be located at several locations on the course.

Important Race Day Gear Notes

100K, 50k and 50 mile Runners Should Have Headlamps!

Sunrise on race day is 7:13am.

100K, 50 mile and 50K runners can drop headlamps and gear at Any Aid Station.  Bags will be provided and will be taken to the finish.

100K & 50 mile runners may also have drop bags for on-course needs.
These bags will be taken to the 30 Mile Aid Station by race staff and will be returned to the finish.  Drop bags should be clearly marked with your name.

***Note that drop bags and gear drop are not the same thing!
Drop bags are for gear that you’d like taken to an aid station on course.  Runners must provide their own drop bags and bags should be clearly marked.
Gear drop is for gear that you’d like to discard during the event.  This would be headlamps, warm clothes for the early morning hours, etc.

Nearby towns are Frenchtown, Tinicum (Bucks County), Erwinna, Upper Black Eddy, New Hope, Doylestown, Buckingham, Stockton and Point Pleasant (Pa).

We have also reserved two group camping sites at Tinicum park should anyone want to camp there at the race grounds the night before the race.  The camping area is 100 yards away from the Start & Finish Line.  These are not RV sites…just really sweet tent sites.

Supporting local non-profits who work to preserve the special landscapes that we hold our races in is a key element in all Spirit Trips races.  Our local non-profit benefactor for MuleSkinner is the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor.  Their ongoing efforts to preserve and protect the scenic beauty and historic character of the canals and tow paths is commendable and deserving of our support.  A portion of all race registration fees will be donated to them and we encourage all participants to do what they’re able to beyond our donations.  This organization is truly worth it.
